Chan-wook Park's I'm a Cyborg is a whimsical comedy from Korea that sees the director of those dazzling thrillers, Oldboy and Lady Vengeance, change course. The heroine is a production-line worker with the lovely name of Young-goon who comes to believe that she's a cyborg, attempts to repair a cut with a strong electric current, and ends up in a mental hospital packed with similarly colourful eccentrics. The only violence (and there is a great deal of it) is in her mind when she believes she's a Terminator-like killer with machine guns in every finger and a cartridge ejector in her mouth.
