Readers’ short films: 24-hour London, Kuala Lumpur and Chicago in motion

We asked readers to make short films about their cities for the City Visions film season using GuardianWitness. In this second of three updates, here are more of our favourite entries

Our Guardian Cities and Barbican City Visions film competition challenged readers around the world to make a three-minute film about their city – in any style. This week, as we look forward to the unveiling of the winners at the Guardian Cities Surprise Screening at the Barbican on 27 September, we take a look at some of the best entries. In this roundup we wander the streets of London, take a look at life in Kuala Lumpur and pick up the pace in Chicago neighbourhoods.

London

24 hours in the life of a city, London

Kuala Lumpur

A city of my being, bestowing fortune to those who seek,

Dreams from an ocean of EVERYONE,

Fused and melded,driving the city,

The place where promise many OPPORTUNITY,

As the city rejuvenates itself,

From its embattled past,

Now,we're taking the first step back TOGETHER,

To bring back the city's GLORY,

A glory for everyone to LIVE and DREAMS.

Chicago

Our city finds enjoyment in the everyday, beyond the interruptions.
