Lindsay Lohan hopes to win two Oscars within a decade and has spoken about “rolling” a body bag containing Whitney Houston’s corpse as part of her community service.

The former child star spoke to the Sunday Times ahead of her two-month turn in the David Mamet play Speed-the-Plow in the West End. She said she wanted to “win an Oscar” within five years, and asked where she wanted to be in a decade’s time, told her interviewer: “Two Oscars.”

Lohan, 28, is taking the role once made famous by Madonna in Mamet’s play. She said: “I know, so long as I do what I have to do, I trust myself. I’m sure that will show through.”

In a separate interview with the Telegraph, Lohan suggested she was forced to “roll a body bag” containing Houston’s corpse during a gruelling community service sentence at the LA county morgue in 2012. She labelled the decision to send her there “fucked up and inappropriate – because a lot of other people were meant to do it, and they were like, ‘No, they can’t handle it. Lohan can.’”

She added: “It’s different for me than it would be for other people – like, no one would really have to work at the morgue in LA and roll a body bag for Whitney Houston.”

However, she said the experience marked something of a turning point. “I know it sounds really dark and strange, but I thought it would be a lot worse,” she said. “I kind of regulated a lot of it. I’d tell people: ‘You didn’t fold that sheet properly,’ because I’m OCD with folding.”

Of the Mamet play, Lohan said: “I like the idea of being able to fight for what I lost, essentially. I lost a lot of … I wouldn’t say … I don’t think respect is the word … trust from a lot of people. And I don’t mind gaining that back.”

Lohan had a string of hits with Freaky Friday, Mean Girls and The Parent Trap before turning 18 but has since struggled with alcoholism and has spent brief periods in jail. The actor has mentioned her desire for Oscars in the past: in 2011 she told Jay Leno she hoped to be “sitting here after winning an Oscar”, at age 30.
