Viral Video: Doctor Who, Benedict Cumberbatch and Harry Styles

Mitchell Johnson smashes the press box, stars smash ice with their heads and has Bryan Cranston got another smash hit? By Janette Owen

We start this week’s chart with a whirlwind tour around the world with Doctor Who. New Doctor Peter Capaldi and his assistant Jenna-Louise Coleman met fans from around the globe before the launch of the latest BBC series. While the Doctor was making new friends, old pals were gathering for a reunion of Friends. Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow joined Jimmy Kimmel for a special show.

There have been buckets of coverage for the motor neurone disease charity ice bucket challenge and we have rounded up some of the best, featuring, among others, Harry Styles from One Direction, Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch – whose video is especially funny – and Patrick Stewart, who takes a more sedate approach.

Catch a painful film of volunteers whose expressions are captured when they are struck by a taser gun – then cheer up with a mum who films her daughter doing selfies in the car. Time to strike a pose …
