Unleash your digital creativity and share your artworks of bytes, pixels and videogames – plus those you've created using digital media of course – now

Bytes, pixels, interactive videogames ... we want to see them all in this month's Share your art. As the Barbican opens a new exhibition on immersive and interactive digital art, design, film and videogames (and we do a digital art takeover on the Guardian), we want to see your artworks that are pushing the boundaries of digital media – or playing on retro digital nostalgia.

As with all of our projects, you can take the topic in any direction you like – it can be digital or depict the digital world and anything related to it; and you can use any materials you like – pen and ink, needlework, film and, of course, digital media.

Or if you’d prefer to discuss your favourite digital artworks created by other artists, please do so in the comment thread – where we'd also love your suggestions for future Share your art themes.

This project is open to everyone, but there are a few guidelines you need to follow if you'd like to submit your artwork:

How to share your artwork

Share a photo of your artwork via GuardianWitness, by clicking the blue "contribute" button on this page, or via the Android or iPhone app. If you don’t have a Guardian profile, you’ll need to sign up. Then, find the Share your art assignment and follow the instructions to share your image. If you have any problems, you can email us at userhelp@theguardian.com.

We'll feature some of our favourite pictures from the group at theguardian.com/artanddesign. By sending us your pictures you a) acknowledge that you have created the pictures or have permission to do so, and b) grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, free licence to publish your pictures as described. Copyright resides with you and you may re-use your pictures however you wish. Read our full terms and conditions here.

Guidelines

The project is open to everyone, but there are a few guidelines you need to follow:

• Share your artworks on the theme of digital art.

• Please include the work's title.

• Your work can be created using any medium but photography.

• Submit as many images as you like, but don't worry if they don't appear straight away – everything has to be approved before it can be "hung" in our online gallery.

• Follow the how-to instructions below and tell us in the comments if there are any improvements we could make to the series.
