Last week we reported that Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins is to play Iggy Pop in new film CBGB, telling the story of the legendary New York venue.

Last month we heard OutKast's André 3000 is to play Jimi Hendrix in new biopic All Is By My Side. Looking at photos of André and Hendrix side by side gives us hope that he'll be able to impress.

What's your favourite musical biopic? Whether you think they're a good or a bad idea, there's surely got to be one you've enjoyed. How about Ray, starring Jaimee Foxx as Ray Charles? Or Walk the Line, with Joaquin Phoenix as Johnny Cash?

We'd like to hear from you for this week's readers' panel. Let us know what you think has been the best portrayal of a real-life band, singer, rapper, musician, producer … you get the idea.

If you'd like to participate, please email adam.boult@guardian.co.uk before 8am on Friday 15 June, with up to 200 words on your favourite music biopic. When you email, please include your Guardian username and your real name (let us know if you object to having your real name used). We'll pick five entries for publication. The subject line of your email should be "Readers' panel".
