Intruders – review

The spooky tale of a boy and girl having identical nightmares lacks coherence, writes Philip French

What dreams may come? Clive Owen and Ellan Purnell in psychological horror Intruders. Photograph: PR

In this psychological horror movie a boy in Spain and a girl in England experience identical nightmares about a terrifying faceless man, and their parents seek help from respectively a Spanish priest and a British female shrink. The twist is that the two stories are not concurrent, though in the end this doesn't make the film more coherent or plausible. The Spanish aspect is more powerfully atmospheric than the British one.
