Gwenyth Paltrow is to shack up with Mark Ruffalo, Tim Robbins and Joely Richardson in a comedy drama about sex addiction, according to Variety.

Thanks for Sharing will be the directorial debut of Stuart Blumberg – the Oscar-nominated co-writer of The Kids Are All Right – and will see Paltrow play Pheobe, a successful businesswoman who meets Ruffalo's character in a recovery group for sex addicts. Robbins and Richardson will play another couple seeking treatment.

"I couldn't imagine actors more perfect than Gwyneth, Mark, Tim and Joely for this film," said Blumberg. "I can't wait to see them bring these characters to life with their unique and formidable talents."

Paltrow's latest film, Contagion, debuted at the Venice film festival earlier this week. Directed by Steven Soderbergh, the 70s-style disaster movie sees a deadly virus sweep across the globe, with Paltrow playing Patient Zero. Other roles in the pipeline include next year's return to the Iron Man franchise, when Paltrow will play Pepper Pots – the personal assistant to Robert Downey Jr's billionaire superhero – for the third time.
