Shamim Sarif's indulgently glossy movie has the tiniest hint of vanity project about it. Two women, Palestinian Tala (Lisa Ray) and Jordanian Leyla (Sheetal Sheth) wake up to their gay identity and fall in love, while at the same time facing up to the strictures of their South Asian and Middle East family backgrounds.

TV's The L Word is mentioned in the script, but frankly this looks more like Dynasty, with some very broad, soapy acting, coy sex scenes and some airily conspicuous wealth. These are people with problems, but money does not appear to be one of them.
