Greenpeace has spoofed the Queen's Christmas message and linked up with MySpace for its viral Christmas ad campaign.

The sender can customise the email card for the recipient, so that Her Majesty appears to give a personalised video message as an irreverent "Queen E", giving advice on how to have a greener Christmas.

Users are also invited to subscribe to the Greenpeace e-bulletin and are asked by Queen E to add the campaigning group to their MySpace friends.

The viral campaign was created by digital agency E3, which shot a range of video clips and responses so that the messages can be personalised.

"Linking with MySpace means we can continue the campaign and the relationship between Greenpeace and the recipient. This allows us to get the message out to a wider audience and exploit further ways to communicate future campaigns," the managing director of E3, Stuart Avery, said.

Mr Avery added that the Greenpeace campaign had created an irreverent Queen E to encourage people to think green over Christmas, partly by not sending paper Christmas cards.
