Two engaging lead actors - Jaycee "son of Jackie Chan" Fong and Fiona Sit - make this Hong Kong teen weepie just about watchable. Otherwise it would be pretty mundane stuff, with all the John Hughes cliches writ large: a rich and a poor kid fall in love, take on two sets of disapproving parents, then run away together after going too far too soon. It's something of a novelty for western audiences to see this sort of thing played out in the far east instead of small-town America, and anyone interested in observing China's mushrooming economic strength will no doubt be taking note of the details of mobile phone design and interior decor. But, dramatically speaking, 2 Young brings a sledgehammer rather too often to proceedings to emulate its 1980s inspirations.
