A Japanese animation from the legendary Studio Ghibli (creators of Spirited Away), directed by Hiroyuki Morita, the story being taken from what is opaquely described as a "project concept" by Hayao Miyazaki. It's probably best enjoyed if you are, as it were, a cat person.

A sensitive, shy 17-year-old girl called Haru, battling with the daily trials of high school life, saves the life of a cat in the street, who then reveals himself to be a prince in the secret kingdom of cats. It is in this secret enchanted place that the saucer-eyed Haru finds herself to be an honoured guest and starts turning into a cat herself. The story has a moderate charm, but is less baroque and ambitious than many Japanese animations.
