The last time we saw Campbell Scott, he was playing a burnt-out Manhattan womaniser in Dylan Kidd's sex satire Roger Dodger. This is a more wholesome outing for him, sporting a Sith Iffrican accent as the farmer and family man whose little boy Xan (Alexander Michaletos) rescues a baby cheetah, which they call Duma. The animal grows up to be more friend and blood-brother to Xan than pet.
A terrible twist of fate, however, means that Xan and Duma have to make a gruelling journey through the desert together with their new friend Rip (Eamonn Walker), finally confronting the Kiplingesque decision of whether Duma must return to the wild. Moderate family fare.
