Memo to staff from Mark Byford, acting director general BBC

"I'm sorry to have to inform you that Ann Wilson, managing director of BBC Technology Ltd, has been dismissed today following disciplinary proceedings concerning misuse of hospitality.

I appreciate that this is very difficult news for you because it comes at an important time for BBC Technology as the procurement and sales goes ahead.

Adrian Corcoran, director of operations will act as managing director.

This is a matter entirely separate from the procurement and sale of BBC Technology, which will go ahead under the direction of John Varney, the BBC's chief technology officer.

We will be considering carefully the managing director appointment in the next few weeks."
