Battlefield Earth (2000)
Atrocious futuristic epic starring John Travolta, adapted from a novel by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.

Swept Away (2002)
Dire remake of Lina Wertmüller's 1975 art house classic starred Madonna and was directed by her husband Guy Ritchie. Rolling Stone began its review by declaring: 'For starters, it blows'.

Glitter (2001)
Mariah Carey stars in this truly awful tale of an aspiring singer who turns into a big star. The Guardian's Peter Bradshaw said Mariah is 'comfortably out-acted by the cherrywood kitchen counter-top in her spiffy apartment'.

Ishtar (1987)
Dustin Hoffman and Warren Beatty 'star' in Ishtar, which reportedly cost $40 million to make. Described by the Chicago Sun-Times as 'a truly dreadful film, a lifeless, massive, lumbering exercise in failed comedy'.

The Postman (1997)
Kevin Costner starred and directed. The Chicago Sun-Times said: 'Parables like this require their makers to burn their bridges and leave common sense behind'.
