Jackie Chan's likeable persona and amiable schtick - combined with a big-name cast and one very, very strange cameo from James Brown - can't save this deeply terrible film. Our Jackie plays a hapless cab driver who nicks a magic tuxedo, which allows him to fight like a superman and romance the ladies like a love machine. This ancient plot stratagem, last seen in Like Mike, fails to impress and there are hardly any real fight scenes; we are just supposed to let Mr Chan ease imperceptibly into his new persona: the knockabout comedian of middle years, while the serious martial arts stuff fades tactfully into the background. The inevitable final out-take bloopers consist almost entirely of Chan genially complaining about co-star Jennifer Love Hewitt corpsing. "Whole film she does it! Waste of film! Waste of time!" Mmm.
