The former 11 O'Clock Show presenter, Daisy Donovan, is to star in an advertising campaign for the online bank, Egg.

In the commercial, the TV presenter tries to use her Egg card to buy the perfect partner in a Russian "husband market".

She is shown checking her balance on a laptop computer before driving off with her new man.

Like Sacha Baron Cohen, aka Ali G, Donovan made her name conducting spoof interviews with unsuspecting MPs and TV personalities on the late-night Channel 4 comedy show.

To coincide with the Donovan commercial, Egg has created its first interactive ad.

Digital TV viewers will be taken through to the Egg TV channel, which has been customised to include images of Donovan and her Russian "husband".

Viewers will be able to access a two-minute version of the advert and a three-minute behind-the-scenes film on the Egg channel.

The campaign, created by HHCL & Partners, promotes the Egg credit card and introduces the endline: "Egg lets you be...".
