AOL Time Warner and Ebay are strengthening their long-term alliance by announcing a three-year marketing pact.

Ebay, the online auction service, is extending its advertising agreement with AOL, which was forged in 1997.

It already advertises on AOL's online media but will now also appear in its print and television properties, which include Time, People, Wallpaper and CNN. These have become available as a result of AOL's merger with Time Warner last year.

However, the alliance is not exclusive. In March, Ebay announced it was linking up with AOL's arch-rival, Microsoft, to put its auction services on several of Microsoft's sites.
