BBC Worldwide has expanded its internet and interactive team by appointing two new press officers.
Melanie Curtis joins as press officer, BBC Multimedia, from IMG Artists where she covered press and PR for 200 classical musicians and dance groups. Her appointment follows that of Andrew Widger, who was recently appointed press officer, internet and interactive, from the Press Association, where he was communications manager.
The two report directly to Matt Turmaine, head of press and PR, internet and interactive.
Janie Ironside Wood, director of communications at BBC Worldwide, said: "BBC Worldwide's Internet & Interactive business has developed significantly over the last 12 months. We therefore need to focus press and PR effort on the strategy and day-to-day working of the unit as a whole and the individual I&I businesses."
