Ben Stiller’s airhead model Derek Zoolander inexplicably becomes a hero again in the full-length trailer for comedy sequel Zoolander 2.
The star returns as arguably his most famous character in the long-gestated follow-up to the 2001 hit, alongside Owen Wilson and Will Ferrell. The returning actors are joined by Penélope Cruz, Kristen Wiig, Benedict Cumberbatch and Justin Bieber, and the film is also rumoured to include appearances from Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande and Kanye West.
The plot sees Zoolander and Wilson’s Hansel McDonald struggling to cope with changes in the fashion world, but returning to it in order to find a killer of beautiful people.
Stiller’s appeal at the box office has been on the wane of late, with his 2013 remake of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty failing to land, but a lead in Noah Baumbach’s While We’re Young helped to restore some of his indie cred. In his next project he will star as the founder of the Chippendales, in a biopic to be directed by the Six Feet Under creator Alan Ball.
Zoolander 2 will be in cinemas in the UK from 12 February.
