These days the Undertones are chiefly famous for being the band that recorded Teenage Kicks, the record that DJ John Peel wants played at his funeral. This excellent 2001 documentary explores the roots of the song and the band as Peel accompanies them back to their hometown of Derry for some candid interviews.
The secret of the Undertones' success lay in their individuality and unshakeable self-belief; at the height of the punk movement they recorded sweet-natured songs about young love. They also achieved international fame despite being vilified on their home turf.
Extra features include seven promotional videos and concert footage from the 1999 Feargal Sharkey-less reunion.
