The Register's Andrew Orlowski has posted a very interesting piece on the next release of Apple's OSX, which has been nicknamed Jaguar. There's a lot of the usual analysis of the various eye candy elements of OSX, but some more important notes about speed (much much faster now, even on G3 machines) and performance on laptops (it's not killing the batteries so badly, presumably because it's not working the processor so hard). "A straw poll unanimously preferred the beta to the current public release, 10.1.4," he writes. "Jag delivers where X has failed. So let's say we get on with it?"
