British Airways has hired TBWA/London to handle the advertising for its new internet portal following a six-way pitch.
The £2m account win is a major coup for TBWA, which beat M&C Saatchi - BA's long-standing agency of record - to the business.
The portal, dubbed "project quicksilver", is aimed at BA club card holders and will take the form of a lifestyle magazine offering visitors information on travel, leisure and fashion. It is part of BA's £100m eVentures initiative, announced in February.
TBWA already handles BA's £1.5m Airmiles account.
BA, which spends about £20m a year on ads, is one of the UK's most sought-after accounts.
