Playing out like Scorsese's After Hours with guns, Johnnie To's PTU occupies a single mad night in which a cop goes in search of his missing gun amid an unfolding murder investigation. It's not on a par with To's other current release Exiled, but PTU remains an atmospherically moody distraction - short, bitter-sweet, and to the point.
