Director of BBC Vision assembles team

Simon Nelson has been appointed to the newly created position of controller of multiplatform and portfolio projects in the BBC Vision TV programming and new media operation, which formally launched today.

Mr Nelson, who moves from his job as controller of BBC radio and music interactive, will report to Jana Bennett, director of BBC Vision.

Ms Bennett has also appointed Bal Samra, who was chief operating officer for BBC TV and controller of rights and business affairs, to be the new division's director of operations and rights.

The controller of factual production, Keith Scholey, is to be deputy chief creative officer of BBC Vision Studios, reporting to chief creative officer Peter Salmon.

The controller of TV operations, Sandy Maeer, has been appointed head of executive office at BBC Vision.
