If you have a soft spot for Sunday teatime-telly adaptations, this might be for you. It's a revival of the well-known heartwarmer about a little Swiss girl who goes to live with her grumpy old grandpa high up on an alp. The old grouch is turned into a simpering pussycat in short order - and then, just to bring your heart up to boiling point, Heidi is sent away to Frankfurt to live with Clara, a little girl who's in a wheelchair.
This is decently mounted and handsomely cast, the Swiss locations look very nice and there are no cliched cowbells to be heard. But this is staid stuff, and can only be intended as international TV fodder.
