Gregory Read's feature is an Australian psycho-thriller set in a British public school for boys, or conceivably in one of Australia's poshified, pommified versions of the same thing. Toni Collette plays a forensic psychologist called in to interview a coolly self-possessed teenage boy under arrest for killing his best friend. But did he? Eddie Redmayne is very good as the prime suspect: icily detached, taunting the investigating officers, playing them along, as if Hannibal Lecter had turned up in a production of Another Country. It's good stuff from Redmayne, but the plot unravels into muddle and absurdity.
