The Change-Up – review

A feeble life-swap comedy leaves a bad taste in the mouth, writes Philip French

This feeble life-swap comedy stars Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds as lifelong friends in Atlanta, Georgia, one a successful, happily married lawyer and family man, the other a womanising slacker. They accidentally switch bodies while drunkenly urinating together one night into a magical fountain and must play each other until the dismantled pool has been located. This involves one managing a complex legal merger and the other acting in a porn movie. Like the copious pooh that his baby son squirts into Bateman's mouth during a nappy change, it leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
