A Long Island coming-of-age tale is predictable and bland, yawns Jason Solomons

A dull and predictable coming-of-age story set on Long Island in the late 1970s, Derick Martini's bland film could indeed have been made any time, any place, anywhere. Alec Baldwin plays a philandering property developer while Rory Culkin is his uninspiring 15-year-old son, making a fumbling advance into adulthood by groping the girl next door (Emma Roberts).
