Doing what it says on the tin, this enjoyable, very gay documentary chronicles the hedonistic years of drugs, disco and shagging that engulfed certain areas of New York following the Stonewall riots in 1969 and up to the coming of Aids in 1981.
Punctuated by some funky 12'' breaks, there are lots of photos of men in cut-off denim shorts sporting big moustaches and memories of orgiastic experiences in St Mark's Baths, on Christopher Street or on the disused piers that jut into the Hudson (River, not Rock.) "It's quite Pompeii, isn't it?" remarks one interviewee, wistfully looking at striking black-and-white photos of a monumental but disappeared city.
