The new season of the BBC's teen content initiative, BBC Switch, will include an online comedy about five students during their first week at university and an interactive drama in which viewers will be able to take part.
Five-part comedy Fresh! is BBC Switch's first UK commissioned comedy. Written by Dean Craig and directed by Andy DeEmmony, whose credits include Red Dwarf and Father Ted, it will launch online next month.
To Be Continued ... is an interactive drama project developed between BBC Switch and young actors, screenwriters and directors featuring a number of secret celebrity guests.
The first act, written by Al Smith - who has worked on EastEnders and Holby City - will air next month, and will invite viewers to film and upload future scenes.
Other new online shows include the 5:19 Show, a sketch and talk show hosted by Tom Deacon, named after the time that most teens log on after school; and Myths, offering up a modern interpretation of Greek myths.
The BBC's multiplatform teen brand, BBC Switch includes content across TV, radio and online.
New BBC Switch shows on BBC2 include Scene Stealers, a "life swap" style format in which teenagers pretend they belong to a different "teen tribe"; and docusoap Mission Beach, which will follow eight British teenagers taking part in California's renowned Junior Lifeguard Programme.
Both shows will air under the BBC Switch banner on BBC2, along with US teen comedy GR**K and the return of teen current affairs show, Revealed.
BBC Radio 1 DJs Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw return with a half-hour Saturday lunchtime show, Sound, filmed in a London loft with music and celebrity guests.
The pair will also host another run of their Sunday evening show on BBC Radio 1. The station will broadcast the first live BBC Switch event from London on October 12.
Geoffrey Goodwin, the head of BBC Switch, said: "The new content gives a great example of our strategy to produce a range of high quality, distinctive and fresh entertainment for British teens ... these programmes sum up BBC Switch's commitment to nurture and develop new British talent."
