Happy Final Fantasy 13 day. The latest instalment of the mega-selling game was released today, and pre-orders alone have already seen it climb into Amazon's best-seller list for the past few weeks. If you are still planning to buy a copy, the good news is that a price skirmish has broken out, meaning you don't have to pay the £49.99 RRP.
We've had a scout around for the best deals, but prices are still changing so if you spot anything better please let us know.
Xbox 360
On the high street: Cheapest instore, and overall, seems to be Asda, which is offering the game for £34.71 until stocks run out. Call the store before making a special journey as different branches will receive different amounts of stock.
• Sainsbury's is charging £34.99 in its stores. Again, this is a limited offer so check with your local branch before you set out.
• Game is offering a trade-in discount. Hand over your copy of Call of
Duty Modern Warfare 2, Darksiders, MAG or Uncharted 2 and you will get
Final Fantasy 13 for £20.

• Sainsbury's is just pennies more expensive, offering the same format for £34.99. However, delivery will add at least £3.95 to the cost.
• Tesco Entertainment is selling FFXIII for the Xbox 360 for £37.70, and you can earn 74 Clubcard points.
• Play and Game are charging £39.99 for the Xbox 360 version of the game. Delivery is free.
• At Amazon it is on sale for £42.99 with free delivery.

Special editions
Amazon is offering a Collector's Edition on the Xbox for £49.99. It includes a soundtrack CD, a hardback book containing character artwork and three prints of the lead characters.
HMV is selling an exclusive edition of the game with a slipcase sleeve not available elsewhere. It is £39.99 on PS3 and Xbox 360 formats, both instore and online. It is offering the same Collector's Edition as Amazon for £49.99.
