The choreographers are the heroes of this poorly scripted, energetically performed hip-hop musical in which a team of young dancers take to the streets of Miami hoping to publicise themselves and get rich. Their work takes a disinterested, populist turn when they use their talents to prevent a predatory property developer (Peter Gallagher) from destroying a colourful waterfront neighbourhood where poor, honest working folk live. They not only win, but they gain the mayor's support and get offered a Nike contract. Which shows you can have your cakewalk and eat it.
