The sinking Scotsman is more like it. This is a limp underdog sports movie which I first saw at last year's Edinburgh film festival; it's about real-life cycling hero Graeme Obree, who won the 1993 one-hour world championship with a bike he designed and built himself. Jonny Lee Miller plays the tough-minded loner who takes on the pompous cycling establishment - but in his hands Obree is not a particularly sympathetic or even interesting character. Uphill work.
