Ant and Dec have announced they will front their first podcast series together from next week.

The series, called Hanging Out With Ant and Dec, will feature the longtime friends catching up and reminiscing, and listeners will get the chance to ask the pair for advice and to relive TV moments and share anecdotes.

Episodes will be released every fortnight starting on 22 January, with a bonus episode every Monday.

The hosts of I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! and Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway also announced they are launching a digital channel, Belta Box, which will feature new entertainment and curated clips, including some of their best bits from programmes such as the Newcastle-based children’s drama Byker Grove, which helped launch their careers.

Speaking about the podcast, Dec, 50, said: “We asked our audience if we did a podcast what would they like it to be about and they said we just want you guys to hang out. So that’s what we’re doing. Ant and I don’t get to hang out as much as we used to, so it’s perfect for us.”

The pair, whose full names are Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, are also known for hosting Britain’s Got Talent and the gameshow Ant and Dec’s Limitless Win.

Ant, 50, said: “We’ve spent our whole careers celebrating great entertainment, so launching Belta Box feels like the natural next step. Alongside our new podcast, we’re excited to create a space packed with fun, feelgood content that brings people together – no matter where they’re watching or listening.”

The duo played PJ and Duncan in the CBBC series Byker Grove and performed together as a pop music duo under their character names. They reached No 1 in the UK singles chart in 2013 with the song Let’s Get Ready to Rhumble, 19 years after its original release in 1994.
