I love the internet so much. I think it is so funny. And as someone who has built their entire career off being funny online in the incredibly niche field of graphic design comedy, I owe the internet everything I own. Please enjoy this list of videos pulled from the deepest reaches of my liked videos and saved tab. I hope you laugh at some of them.

Unrelated, but I saw someone absolutely stack it at the cinema the other week and it was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. Dead silence for like 10 seconds before they got up. Unreal.

1. La Bussi

This is my favourite video online. Everything about it is perfect. The red carpet … the awfully light applause … “La Bussi” … I wish I could’ve been there so bad. I think the 370 bus route – Sydney’s most hellish line – deserves a mascot.

2. New haircut

Before I found my regular hairdresser (Florence Hair in Newtown, truly the best cut of my life) I would go to this place in Broadway shopping centre and pay $30 cash for a truly awful experience. This video sums up how I felt every time I went.

3. Caroline Polachek screaming at geese

I’m a big Caroline Polachek head. This video is part of a livestream she did a few years ago. She does the same scream in her latest song Dang. Nice!

4. French kids paying tribute to Serge Gainsbourg

I felt like the luckiest man on Earth when YouTube first recommended this video to me. As soon as the curtain opened I knew I had stumbled upon one of the greats. I love how they keep getting closer to him and he’s just sitting there smoking and crying. Who is Serge Gainsbourg?

6. The snail is revealed

Genuine horror in Niecy Nash’s voice. The crowd loves Kermit! I reckon this was a backup voice actor.

7. An attempt at design comedy

It would be remiss of me to not include some graphic design comedy in this list. @designershumor is the biggest design meme page on the internet, and this video is their first attempt at video comedy. Admin voice reveal. I will remember this forever.

8. Raven says hola

Still can’t figure out if this video is dubbed or not. The mystery continues to perplex me … What an amazing animal, regardless. So happy to be home and around others. That’s my kinda bird!

9. Chuck E Cheese says ‘poggers’

Absolutely bizarre video. This is a clip taken from a livestream on the official Chuck E Cheese Twitch channel. He didn’t say a single word until this moment near the very end of a two-hour stream. Before this, he just sat there and occasionally turned to the camera and laughed. Why did they make him do this.

10. Improv chimps

I think improv is god’s greatest gift but in 2019 I straight-up performed to a crowd of zero at a student bar. There will always be an improv chimp in my heart.
