It would be nice to find something in this ramshackle relationship comedy with very cheap’n’cheerful production values. It’s an autobiographical project for former TV director Peter Domankiewicz, who is pretty much a one-man band: writer, director, producer, co-editor and star. Looking something like a harassed, English version of Gene Wilder, Domankiewicz plays David, who has dropped everything in England to live with his Spanish girlfriend in Madrid – where things go terribly wrong. There is arguably a kind of heroism in getting this shoestring feature made, but the script is, frankly, terrible – and Domankiewicz doesn’t come anywhere near cutting it as an actor.
