Game of Thrones actor Jason Momoa is set to take the role of Aquaman in the forthcoming Batman v Superman film, according to Hitfix.
The Hawaiian-born actor, who plays warlord Khal Drogo in the hit HBO TV series, has been connected with the role for some time, a water-dwelling superhero who will appear in Batman v Superman in anticipation of a larger role in a projected multi-character Justice League movie.
Directed by Zack Snyder, Man of Steel 2 recently announced its full title as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, setting it up as as part of a network of superhero movies originated by DC Comics and Warner Bros, rivalling the Disney/Marvel Avengers cycle.
Momoa, 35, is a veteran of Baywatch, and his previous big-screen credits include a supporting role in Bullet to the Head (2012) and the lead in Conan (2011).
