Payday 2 – review

An enjoyable crime shooter with a distinctly Reservoir Dogs flavour – but best played online, writes Matt Kamen

Simply put, it's good to be bad in this hectic multiplayer crime shooter. As one of four masked criminals, you'll plan and pull off elaborate heists, banking the cash and improving your ability to take on more challenging crimes.

There's a brilliant sense of desperation and a doubtlessly deliberate Reservoir Dogs vibe to the gameplay, with safe-cracking gadgets malfunctioning and hordes of police obstructing your getaways, while you try to avoid harming civilians. Best played online though, as solo sessions prove repetitive.
