Guardian Data and Google will be hosting their first ever live event tonight, Tuesday 16 October – focusing on the role data has to play in policy making and transparency around international development and foreign aid.
Running in the evening from 7pm to 9pm at Guardian HQ, this unique event will explore the key datasets behind the stories, bringing them to life and drawing on the expertise of those who know the numbers inside out.
Our expert panel of speakers include:
Douglas Alexander MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs and former Secretary of State for International Development
Salil Tripathi, director of policy, Institute for Human Rights and Business
Professor Ian Goldin, director, Oxford Martin School
Rachel Rank, research and monitoring manager, Publish What You Fund
And the panel will be moderated by Simon Rogers, editor of the Guardian Data Store.
Both the Guardian and Google believe that data should be at the heart of policy – and we'd like you to join us for the discussion.
How do I submit questions?
You can put them in the comments field below – or tweet them with the hashtag #gdnglobaldev – or email data@guardian.co.uk
The debate will be broadcast live on Google+ and the Guardian, and users around the world will have the ability to join from their desks and submit questions.
