Leave It on the Floor – review

This musical based on the LGBT subculture of ballroom "walking" is dragged down by its deadweight script, writes Henry Barnes

Leave It on the Floor

Low-budget musical in which Brad (Ephraim Sykes) enters the fabulous world of ballroom "walking" – an LGBT subculture whereby costumed performers compete for their house by dancing along a catwalk. Brad – labelled "fresh balls" by his new family – learns to shake his "lips, hips, butt and clutch" to the beat. He's not lithe enough to wiggle away from the deadweight script, but the songs (including a saucy ode to Justin Timberlake) are fresh and witty.
