Park has revealed the loveable mutt was originally intended to be a cat, reports the Mail. However, the moggy sidekick didn't get off the drawing board after Park realised it was much easier to model a dog. "Plus I had a packet of dog's noses from a craft shop on me ... so Gromit became a dog," he told the Radio Times.
