Some will gag, others will guzzle: Jean-Pierre Améris's acquired taste romcom crashes together two Gallic neurotics – one a brilliant but hiccupy chocolatier, the other her perspiring boss. Broad, but not quite broad enough, laughs ensue, partly because these two straddle the barrier between quirky and actually disturbed. In order for the script to crackle and the heart to move, you need to suspend more disbelief that proves possible here. For all their fruitcake ways, these two seem well-adjusted enough, and their patter, plus the enthusiastic musical soundtracking, gives this film the fatal cadences of a confection.
