A soapy Jamaican boxing drama that sees a young Kingston fighter choose between following his fists or his political allegiances. Derrick (Kevoy Burton) wants to box like his hero, Lennox Lewis (who executive produces here), but the nearest gym is located in the opposition party's ward and dad (a hard-headed "politricks" man) has forbidden it. The action in the ring is realistic, even if the plot – hooked on the premise that Kingston is a one-gym town – is a little punchdrunk. But its writer/director Chris Brownes's broad swipes at a political solution through pathos that makes this one swing wide.
