The BBC is "considering its options" over a prank site that does a rather good job of mimicking BBC.co.uk. The spoof website, news-bbc.net, features a range of stories that seem plausible – MPs face further expenses queries, new brigade takes over in Helmand – among a range that stretch the truth by a mile – such as "Phillip Schofield kidnapped", "Man caught on CCTV having sex with pumpkin" and "Gordon Brown admits affair with Ann Widdecombe".
