Watching this yucky emotional drama is like being sprayed with treacle from a high-pressure hose. Freddie Highmore plays a cutesy 11-year-old boy who has, due to a tragic twist of unjust fate, lost contact with his musician parents (Keri Russell and Jonathan Rhys Meyers) - and escapes from the children's home, trusting to his own sense of cosmic musical harmonies to find them again. This sweet-faced urchin becomes part of a Fame Academy-style gang of kiddie-buskers run by a charismatic Fagin figure, played horrifically by Robin Williams. A discordant experience.
