Is it worth upgrading to the iPhone 6?

My husband is mad keen, but it will add £40 a month to his bill and he’s got a perfectly good iPhone 4

Every week a Guardian Money reader submits a question, and it’s up to you to help him or her out – a selection of the best answers will appear in next Saturday’s paper.

This week’s question

My tech-mad husband wants to upgrade his perfectly good iPhone 4 for the latest 6 model, and I’m fed up. He’s only recently paid off the last contract and the upgrade will cost more than £40 a month for another two years. I’d rather go out for dinner once a month (we can’t afford to currently) but he says he’s got to have it. Am I wasting my breath?
