Noomi Rapace is in talks to join the spy thriller Unlocked for director Mikael Hafstrom, reports Deadline.

Written by Peter O'Brien, the film's screenplay made the 2008 Black List of the best unfilmed scripts in Hollywood. The plot revolves around a female CIA interrogator who becomes unwillingly involved in a devastating biological attack on London after being tricked into allowing a terrorist to divulge key information to the wrong side.

Hafstrom, who like Rapace is Swedish, is best known for the 2003 film Evil. The drama was nominated for the Academy Award for best foreign language film at the 76th Academy Awards.

Rapace's last film was a lead role in the 2012 Ridley Scott sci-fi spin-off Prometheus, which was set in the same universe as the veteran British director's iconic 1979 film Alien. The actor rose to fame as hacker Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish language Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trilogy, based on Stieg Larsson's series of bestselling crime novels.
